Administrator CEU approved training covering federal, state and Residential Care specific labor law (Wage Order 5). This training discusses on-duty meal and rest breaks, overtime laws and overnight sleep time exemptions among other pertinent labor laws. The training also will cover what is needed to be in compliance and protect providers in the event of a Department of Labor investigation. This training is 3 hours in length.
Asthma Inhaler Certification
American Red Cross certification designed to provide training on how to correctly assist clients with an asthma inhaler. This training is 1 hour in lenghth.
Bloodborne Pathogens Certification
American Red Cross certification designed to provide training on exposure of blood and body fluids that can cause infection. This training is 1 hour in length.
California ARF Administrator Initial Certification
This certification meets the state of California requirements for individuals who desire to become certified Adult Residential Facility Administrators. The training covers the knowledge and education requirements to be eligible to sit for the Community Care Licensing Administrator Exam. This training is 35 hours in length.
American Red Cross certification designed to provide training on how to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies. This certification meets Title 17 requirements for residential care facilities. This training is 3 hours in length.
Epiniephrine Auto-Injector (Epi-pen) Certification
American Red Cross certification designed to provide training on how to correctly assist clients with an epi-pen. Additional topics covered include identification of signals of anaphylaxix, documentation of response, safe handling and disposal of epi-pen. This training is 1 hour in length.
Eye, Ear & Nose Drops
This training meets Community Care Licensing medication administration requirements under Title 17 for those assisting clients with eye, ear and nose drops. This training is 2 hours in length.
First Aid Certification
American Red Cross certification designed to provide training on care for injuries and emergencies which includes assessment of the injured and observing for any warning signs of illness. This training is 3 hours in length.
HIV & TB
Administrator CEU approved training covering information pertaining to HIV and TB including exposure risk, spread of the disease, universal precautions and community resources. This training also satisfies the requirement for California certified Administrators recertification. This training is 4 hours in length.
Non-Violent Emergency Intervention
This training is designed to meet the Community Care Licensing requirements for crisis intervention in residential care facilities. Topics include non-physical methods to manage disruptive behavior, personal safety for direct support professionals, and positive behavior support strategies. There are no physical restraint concepts taught in this course. If physical restraint certification, such as CPI Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification are required, please contact us for additional information. This training is 6 hours in length.
This is a lecture based training, no water-based skills are required. This training is designed to provide training on water safety and hazards in and around water. This training meets the California Community Care Licensing requirements for Water Safety training in residential care facilities. This training is 2 hours in length.
California Service System
This training covers how the services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities are allocated in California. Topics include state definitions of disability, the Lanterman Act and other pertinent legislation, state agencies involved in service provision and the role of various professionals. This training is 3 hours in length.
Client Rights & Ethics
This training will provide an in-depth review of individuals’ rights under California state law including dignity, choice, independence, and the acceptance of diversity. Other aspects include understanding conservatorship and professional ethics in residential care settings. This training is 3 hours in length.
This training addresses the different ways in which we communicate and how to identify communication barriers in specific settings. Communication skills are key to understanding and resolving conflicts with co-workers, individuals supported, families and other professionals. Methods for dealing with different situations will be addressed to resolve communication gaps. This training is 3 hours in length.
Dementia & Alzheimer’s
This training provides an in-depth analysis of dementia, including Alzheimer’s, in individuals with developmental disabilities. Topics include symptoms that may lead to diagnosis, specific types of dementia, possible causes, medication, and behavior and management. This training is 4 hours in length.
This training is designed to inform residential care providers on emergency planning and preparedness. Topics such as emergency plans, planning, and coordination are addressed. Additionally, safety aspects such as fire and earthquake drills are discussed. This training is 3 hours in length.
Mandated Abuse & Incident Reporting
This training discusses various types of abuse and how to report cases. Additionally, an overview of incident reporting requirements required under Title 17 & 22 (Regional Center and Community Care Licensing) for residential care providers will be highlighted. This training is 3 hours in length.
Administrator CEU approved training provides a comprehensive overview of medication management for persons with developmental disabilities as outlined by California Community Care Licensing regulations. Topics covered include responsibility in administering medication, acknowledgement of the “rights” of medication administration, side effects, storage, disposal and recording of administration. This training is 3-4 hours in length.
Nutrition & Food Safety
This training provides and overview of nutrition for individuals with developmental disabilities including therapeutic diets as outlined by California Community Care Licensing regulations, the importance of hydration, and reading food labels are discussed. Tips and tricks for encouraging a healthy diet and determining nutritional needs will be offered. Additionally, food safety techniques for residential care facilities are emphasized. This training is 3 hours in length.
This training will address various types of barriers commonly seen with individuals with developmental disabilities, most commonly behavioral concerns surrounding oral care, are looked at at methods to assist in alleviating them are highlighted. This training is 2 hours in length.
Positive Behavior Support
This training will provide methods to promote positive behavior among individuals by evaluating behavior, considering replacement behavior options, and focusing on communicative intent. Issues unique to individuals with developmental disabilities such as sensory traits will be highlighted. This training is 3 hours in length.
This training provides information on various healthcare related conditions such as epilepsy, diabetes, chocking and other high-risk areas. Other topics include promoting a healthy lifestyle and appropriate response to health concerns. This training is 3 hours in length.
This training covers topics required under OSHA’s Occupational Exposure requirement for community care facilities, including Hepatitis B. Topics include proper use of personal protective equipment, gloving techniques, hand washing and disinfecting in residential care facilities. This training is 3 hours in length.
